Heather Sharar
Teacher and Trauma Informed Supporter
Meet Heather Sharar, a remarkable individual with a passion for both leadership and yoga. Since 2006, Heather has served as the dedicated Executive Director of the Ambulance Association of Pennsylvania.
Her journey into the world of yoga began as a quest for personal wellness. What started as a tool to help her quit smoking soon blossomed into a deep appreciation for the transformative power of a consistent yoga practice.
Heather has faced adversity head-on. After becoming frustrated with conventional pharmaceutical approaches following injuries in 2014, she turned to alternative paths for healing. Through dedication and perseverance, she gradually reintroduced herself to a gentle yoga practice and eventually regained the ability to engage in dynamic vinyasa sessions.
Setbacks—including a bulging disc, breast cancer and cervical spine surgery in 2022, and severe arthritis in her spine and knees diagnosed in 2025—have led to significant shifts in her life and practice. Still, she continually returns to yoga for healing, guided by her unwavering belief in the ancient wisdom of yoga and its power to unify mind, body, and spirit.
As a yoga professional, Heather champions the importance of meditation for mental health and well-being, integrating it alongside physical asana. She embodies the fusion of leadership and yoga, demonstrating how these practices can harmoniously enhance every aspect of life.
