Studio Policies

Simple. Fair. Supportive.

At Just Plain Yoga, we believe yoga should be welcoming, accessible, and uncomplicated. Since 2003, we've been building a community where people can show up just as they are.

Our policies help us support our instructors, manage classes and events, and keep things running smoothly for everyone.

We understand that life happens. Our goal is always to be fair, consistent, and compassionate.

Class Reservations & Cancellations

Can't make it to class? Please cancel at least 4 hours in advance.

Cancelling your reservation gives another student the opportunity to attend and helps our instructors plan.

  • Drop-ins and class packs: Classes cancelled less than 4 hours before the start time, or missed without cancellation, are forfeited.

  • Unlimited memberships: There are currently no late-cancellation or no-show fees.

We do not currently charge separate late-cancellation or no-show fees. We simply ask that you be considerate of our instructors and fellow students.

Reservations made through third-party wellness or booking programs may be subject to additional requirements established by those providers.

Membership Cancellations

We understand that schedules and circumstances change.

For memberships with automatic recurring payments:

  • Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing at least 14 days before your next billing date.

  • Email info@justplainyoga.com with the subject line "Yoga Membership."

  • Your membership remains subject to the terms of your original membership agreement.

Need a copy of your agreement? Just ask!

Membership Freezes & Holds

Need some time away? You may be able to pause your membership instead of cancelling.

For eligible memberships:

  • One complimentary freeze per calendar year: Up to one month.

  • Additional freezes: May be approved on an individual basis, generally with a $20 administrative fee.

  • Advance notice: Please submit your request in writing at least 15 days in advance.

  • Retroactive freezes: Membership freezes cannot be applied retroactively.

All freezes are subject to studio approval. Approved freezes will have a confirmed start and end date, with billing resuming according to the agreed schedule.

Have a grandfathered or special membership rate?

Please contact us before cancelling. A temporary freeze may provide an option for preserving your existing rate, subject to studio approval.

We recognize that illness, injury, bereavement, and other unexpected circumstances may require special consideration. These requests are reviewed individually by studio management.

Send requests to info@justplainyoga.com, and we'll help with the details.

Refunds & Purchases

The following purchases are generally nonrefundable:

  • Drop-in classes

  • Class packs

  • Introductory offers

  • Auto-payment plans

  • Unlimited memberships

Please review expiration dates and membership terms before purchasing.

Workshops, events, and specialty programs have separate cancellation terms, as outlined below.

Workshops, Series & Special Events

Register with Confidence!

We love when you plan ahead, and we understand that sometimes plans change.

For our regular workshops, series, and special events:

  • 7 or more days before: Full refund or studio credit. Your choice!

  • At least 24 hours but less than 7 days before: Full studio credit toward a future purchase.

  • Less than 24 hours before: No refund or credit.

For multi-session series, cancellation deadlines are based on the participant's scheduled program start date unless separate terms are provided at registration. Once participation has begun, refunds and credits are not available under the standard cancellation policy.

Can't Make It? Share Your Spot!

You're welcome to transfer your registration to a friend at no additional charge. Just email us before the event begins so we can update the registration.

Please send cancellation and transfer requests to info@justplainyoga.com. The time we receive your request determines which cancellation policy applies.

Specialty Programs & Teacher Trainings

Some higher-investment workshops, specialty programs, professional trainings, and teacher certifications involve additional planning, materials, or financial commitments.

These offerings may have separate cancellation policies, nonrefundable deposits, tuition payment deadlines, or other registration requirements.

Any special terms will be clearly provided before registration and take precedence over our standard workshop cancellation policy.

Please review the specific program agreement before enrolling.

Private Appointments & Wellness Events

Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a private appointment or wellness event.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment are nonrefundable.

If Just Plain Yoga Cancels

Occasionally, a class, workshop, or event may need to be cancelled because of weather, instructor availability, or other unforeseen circumstances.

We'll make every reasonable effort to notify registered participants by email and/or phone.

  • Regular classes: Applicable class credits will be restored. Students who purchased an individual class may request a refund instead.

  • Workshops and paid events: If we cancel an event, you may choose a full refund or studio account credit.

Illness, Emergencies & Special Circumstances

We know life doesn't always go according to plan.

While our policies apply to all students, we recognize that unexpected illnesses, emergencies, and unusual circumstances happen.

Exceptions may be considered individually at the studio's discretion. Please reach out so we can discuss your situation.

We strive to balance compassion for individual circumstances with our commitments to instructors, students, and the ongoing operation of the studio.
